Top Salesforce Winter '23 Flow Features
In our next blog, we spoke about the Top 10 Salesforce Winter ‘23 release features. However, we cannot miss the most important Salesforce Flow features. New features in Flow make it simpler to complete tasks while effortlessly delivering engaging customer experiences. With that in mind, Salesforce Flow has replaced Einstein Automate. Utilize Flow Builder, OmniStudio, and Flow Orchestration to create intelligent workflows. Use Flow Integration to integrate throughout any system.
Let’s dive straight into the features;
Flow Integration
The new name for Flow Integration is MuleSoft Composer for Salesforce. With a few clicks, you can invoke processes in any flow and integrate data from any system. You can develop a real-time, integrated view of your customers and business when you develop a secure process to link the data kept in various systems.
Where: For an additional fee, Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited editions with enabled Lightning Experience offer Flow Integration for Salesforce.
Flow Orchestration
Assign work items for orchestration to Experience Cloud site visitors who have access credentials. Access to Flow Orchestration objects can be restricted using role hierarchies, sharing policies, and the Manage Orchestration Runs and Work Items user permission. Using Flow Orchestration objects, generate reports.
Turn on sharing for objects used in flow orchestration
The Manage Flow user permission no longer gives users access to Flow Orchestration objects after Enable Sharing for Flow Orchestration Objects is chosen. Access permissions to Flow Orchestration objects are controlled by the Manage Orchestration Runs and Work Items user permission as well as sharing guidelines and role hierarchies. The Run Flows user permission is still required for users who run orchestrations and carry out work items.
Where: The Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions of Lightning Experience are all affected by this modification.
When: In the summer of 23, Salesforce will implement this change. Go to Trust Status, look up your instance using the search bar, and then select the maintenance tab to view the major release upgrade date for your instance.
How: Enter "release updates" in the Quick Find box in Setup and then click "release updates" to apply this update. Follow the testing and activation steps for Enable Sharing for Flow Orchestration Objects.
Using Flow Orchestration Objects, produce reports
Salesforce reports can now be used to monitor your usage of Flow Orchestration. The objects Flow Orchestration Run, Flow Orchestration Stage Run, Flow Orchestration Step Run, and Flow Orchestration Work Item can all be included in reports.
Where: The Essentials, Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions of Lightning Experience and Salesforce Classic are all affected by this change.

Delegate Actions to Experienced Credentialed Cloud Site Visitors
An interactive step creates a work item and assigns it to a user, group, or queue when it executes in an orchestration. An interactive step can now be given or taken away from a visitor to the Experience Cloud site who has a valid login. Additionally, you can assign or reassign an interactive step to a group or queue that only contains authorized LWR or Aura site visitors.
Where: The Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions of Lightning Experience are all affected by this modification.
How: Choose one of the options under Assignee Type in the Details panel of an interactive step: User, User Resource, Group, Group Resource, Queue, or Queue Resource.
Subflow components can be used with evaluation flows
Utilizing the Subflow element in evaluation flows, you can specify more intricate custom entry and exit conditions for orchestration stages and steps. Additionally, you can reuse evaluation flows that include standard criteria. Only other evaluation flows may be called. And only from other evaluation flows can evaluation flows be called.
Where: The Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions of Lightning Experience are all affected by this modification.
Additional Flow Orchestration Changes

Work Guide Updating After finishing the assigned work
Users of Flow Orchestration are no longer required to refresh the record page after finishing their screen flow if they have been assigned interactive steps that are linked to a single record. The Flow Orchestration Work Guide is currently being automatically updated. The component displays the subsequent screen flow if there is still more work in the assigned user's queue for that record. The component notifies them that there is no additional work at this time if there isn't another work item in their queue for that record.
Owners of New Flow Orchestration Objects Records
The automated process user is now the owner of the flow orchestration run, flow orchestration stage run, and flow orchestration step run records when they are created. The owner field is set to the assignee when interactive steps create flow orchestration work items for an assigned user. The owner field is changed to the new assignee when a flow orchestration work item is reassigned to a user. The owner field is set to the automated process used when interactive steps create flow orchestration work items that are assigned to a group or queue. The owner field is set to the automated process used when a flow orchestration work item is transferred to a group or queue.
OmniStudio
Industry Cloud applications are built using a combination of services, parts, and data model objects from OmniStudio. Utilize information from Salesforce and outside sources to create guided interactions.
Where: With Lightning Experience, Experience Builder sites, and all iterations of the mobile app, OmniStudio is compatible and can be purchased in the Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited editions for an additional fee. Contact your Salesforce account executive for more information and pricing on OmniStudio.
Licenses and Permission Sets for OmniStudio
There is now only one primary OmniStudio user license because the standard permission set from the OmniStudio User user license has been incorporated into the OmniStudio Admin user license. OmniStudio is the new name for the OmniStudio Admin user license.
Tool for OmniStudio Migration
After converting custom objects to standard objects for customers using the custom objects model (OmniStudio for Vlocity), edit the standard object versions of the converted OmniStudio information.
DataRaptors from OmniStudio
Customers using OmniStudio's standard objects model: By turning on DataRaptor Versioning and OmniStudio Metadata in OmniStudio Settings, you can create various versions of a DataRaptor.
Flow Builder Updates
In auto-layout, copy and paste flow elements. Access the Toolbox to see all incoming Go-To connections. Utilize the Formula Builder in the Collection Filters and Flow Resources. In record-triggered flow formulas, use ISCLONE. In Flow Builder, you can create, save, and execute tests for flows.

Flow Elements Can Be Cut and Pasted
Use cut and paste to quickly change the order of flow elements in auto-layout. Previously, to move an element on the canvas, you had to copy it, paste it, delete the original element, and then change the pasted element's API name.
Where: The Essentials, Professional, Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer editions of Salesforce Classic and Lightning Experience are all affected by this change.
How: Click the element and choose Cut Element from the menu to remove it (1).
Create flow choice options using outside information
Users can now choose from external data on flow screens if your business process interacts with it. A car dealership, for instance, keeps its inventory information outside of Salesforce. Their users can now choose which cars to view because they have access to the inventory through an external service. In the past, users could see external data on screens via Display Text or the default values for inputs, but they couldn't choose it.
Where: The Essentials, Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions of Lightning Experience and Salesforce Classic are all affected by this change.
How: Create a collection choice set and include a reference to an external service, an Apex action, or another screen component in the collection. Once you've done that, add your collection choice set to the relevant choice component, like a picklist. The data that has been added to the referenced Apex-defined collection serves as the basis for the picklist options that are generated at runtime.
