    Hello

    Trend Reports are the ideal report for you if you need data for a hotel development project or if you are buying or repositioning a property. Run on a one time basis, Trend Reports display monthly performance data including occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, supply, demand and revenue.

    Trend reports in salesforce are those which displays historical data. Trend reports are used to analyse which fields contains data that we want to leave out.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

    Custom Salesforce Reports
    The custom report type can be created by selecting the objects of your interest and their relationships. The wizard will give access to all child objects of these selected objects. This type of report can be customized as per user need.

    Thanks

    Hello,

    The user who have permission to "run report" permission can run the report.

    Thanks.

  • Hello,

    1) In case of Master-Detail Relationship, if you delete Master Record, all corresponding Child Records get deleted.
    2) In case of Lookup Relationship, if you delete Master Record, all corresponding Child Records will not be deleted. But if you want to delete child records in this case, you can create a trigger through which on master record deletion the child records will get deleted. It will behave like a master detail relationship.

    Thanks,

  • Hello,

    You need to create the lookup, then populate each one so that each child record has a parent record. This is because a master-detail relationship does not allow for ‘orphaned’ child records. Once you have a lookup with each child having a parent, then you can go back and convert the lookup field to a master-detail.

    But Remember,

    Maximum number of Master-Detail relationships on a Custom Object is: 2
    Maximum number of Lookup relationships on a Custom Object is: 25
    Maximum number of Lookup relationships on a Standard Object is: 25

    Thanks.

    Hello,

    Dashboard components can be charts, tables, gauges, metrics, or other components that you can create with VisualForce. Also, There are a few different ways that you can summarize data with Salesforce charts. Depending on the type of data you have there are a few different charts you can use:

    Vertical and Horizontal Bar Chart (Use horizontal bar chart to compare more groups than vertical)
    Line Chart (best for showing data over time)
    Pie / Donut Chart (Both are used to compare a group of data to the total. Donut Charts show the total in the middle)
    Funnel Chart (best for sales opportunities)
    Scatter Chart (Helps to visualize the correlation between values on a report)

    Thanks.

    Hello,

    To view permissions and their descriptions, from Setup, enter Permission Sets in the Quick Find box, then select Permission Sets, then select or create a permission set. Then from the Permission Set Overview page, click App Permissions or System Permissions.

    Thanks.

  • Hello,

    VF Pages embedded in a Page Layout come over as iframes, so the solution is to write a VF Page using only <apex:detail .../> to bring over the Page Layout and then have JavaScript (via jQuery) resize all the iframes.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

    Lightning includes the Lightning Component Framework and some exciting tools for developers. Lightning makes it easier to build responsive applications for any device.
    Lightning includes these technologies:

    Lightning components give you a client-server framework that accelerates development, as well as app performance, and is ideal for use with the Salesforce mobile app and Salesforce Lightning Experience.

    1. The Lightning App Builder empowers you to build apps visually, without code, quicker than ever before using off-the-shelf and custom-built Lightning components. You can make your Lightning components available in the Lightning App

    2. Builder so administrators can build custom user interfaces without code.

    September 29, 2018 at 8:54 pm in reply to: What are responsive email templates in Salesforce?

    Hello.

    According to guide-

    Responsive templates use CSS to resize your emails when viewed on mobile devices. Pardot includes several responsive layouts that you can use to create mobile-friendly email layout templates.

    You can select a responsive layout when building an email template. If you’re an advanced user, you can add responsive CSS to your own layout templates using media queries. When testing an email with a responsive template, preview it by clicking Open in Popup and then manually resizing the window.

    Thanks.

  • Hello,

    Private Cloud
    A private cloud hosting solution, also known as an internal or enterprise cloud, resides on company’s intranet or hosted data center where all of your data is protected behind a firewall. This can be a great option for companies who already have expensive data centers because they can use their current infrastructure. However, the main drawback people see with a private cloud is that all management, maintenance and updating of data centers is the responsibility of the company. Over time, it’s expected that your servers will need to be replaced, which can get very expensive. On the other hand, private clouds offer an increased level of security and they share very few, if any, resources with other organizations.

    Public Cloud
    The main differentiator between public and private clouds is that you aren’t responsible for any of the management of a public cloud hosting solution. Your data is stored in the provider’s data center and the provider is responsible for the management and maintenance of the data center. This type of cloud environment is appealing to many companies because it reduces lead times in testing and deploying new products. However, the drawback is that many companies feel security could be lacking with a public cloud. Even though you don’t control the security of a public cloud, all of your data remains separate from others and security breaches of public clouds are rare.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

    You can use this for restricting the hours during which users can log in and the range of IP addresses from which they can log in and access Salesforce. If IP address restrictions are defined for a user's profile and a login originates from an unknown IP address, Salesforce does not allow the login.

    Thanks.

    September 29, 2018 at 8:30 pm in reply to: What are Cursors in Salesforce?

    Cursors, as I understand, are the equivalent of query result sets. A similar concept exists in SQL if you're familiar with it.

    So I'd say a cursor is a reference to the result set for a soql query.

    I had a support case with Salesforce a while ago about cursors exceeded in a batch apex query. Apparently even inner queries will account for their own cursor set

    So
    Select Id, name, (select Id, name from contacts) from account

    Will account for 2 open cursors.

    The way out was to simplify the SOQL queries and break what we were trying to achieve in one batch apex class over 2 classes.

  • Hello,
    ContentDocument object does not allow insert DML operation in Salesforce, so we can upload it through the ContentVersion object, without ContentDocumentId. After DML on ContentVersion a new version of ContentDocument will be created for us in salesforce.

    The easiest way to do this is using inputFile and assign it to ContentVersion instance. Like this:

    <apex:page controller="ContentController">
    <apex:form>
    <apex:inputfile value="{!file}"></apex:inputfile>
    <apex:commandbutton action="{!upload}" value="Upload"></apex:commandbutton>
    </apex:form>
    </apex:page>

    Class:
    public class ContentController {
    public blob file { get; set; }`

    public PageReference upload() {
    ContentVersion v = new ContentVersion();
    v.versionData = file;
    v.title = 'testing upload';
    v.pathOnClient ='/somepath.txt';
    insert v;
    return new PageReference('/' + v.id);
    }
    }

    If you want to share the ContentVersion file then after insert DML query the ContentDocumentId from inserted ContentVersion and use ContentDocumentLink to create association between Record and ContentVersion uploaded file.
    Thanks.
