    Developer (401) = App Builder
Advanced Developer (501) = Platform developer 1 and Platform developer 2

    Admin (201) = Admin basic
Advanced Admin (301) = Admin advanced

You can find out more here, and open a case with the certification team (http://certification.salesforce.com/)if you'd like to ask them specific questions about what the exams cover.

    Dev(401)- for App Builder.

And with Developer-1 I think with this you want to specify PD-1 certification.

    Thanks

    Hi,

    To add more -

Developer 401 is succeeded by App Builder. Developer 501 is succeeded by two exams namely Platform Developer 1 and Platform Developer 2.

If you hold Developer 401, you can take a transition exam and get the App Builder certification.

If you hold Developer 501, you can take transition exams of Platform Developer 1 and 2.

    Hope this helps.

Yes, there is a difference between the DEV-401 certification and the Salesforce Platform Developer-1 certification. The DEV-401, also known as the Salesforce Certified Force.com Developer certification, was retired and replaced by the Platform Developer-1. While the DEV-401 focused more on declarative development (point-and-click), the Platform Developer-1 certification places greater emphasis on programmatic development (coding) and covers a broader range of topics, including Apex and Visualforce.
The shift to the Platform Developer-1 certification reflects the evolving approach of Salesforce development, where a deeper understanding of coding and the platform’s technical capabilities has become crucial.
For those who have the DEV-401 certification, Salesforce did not require a mandatory update to the new Platform Developer-1 certification. However, it is highly recommended to pursue Platform Developer-1 to stay updated with the latest practices and to be recognized as a developer with up-to-date skills.
