Apex triggers enable you to perform custom actions before or after changes to Salesforce records, such as insertions, updates, or deletions.

We can do things in Apex using Two ways
1. synchronous
2. asynchronous
if your answer is synchronous then go with Trigger, we can invoke a trigger after insert, after the update , before insert, before the update , etc -
The events you can specify are:
before insert.
before update.
before delete.
after insert.
after update.
after delete.
after undelete. -
